On October 19, 2019, the “FLTRP·ETIC Cup” English Public Speaking, Writing and Reading Competition (Shanxi Provincial Final) was held at Shanxi University. This competition was hosted by the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, jointly organized by the Higher Education Foreign Language Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education and the English Major Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education. More than 140 contestants from more than 30 colleges and universities in the province participated in the three major competitions. After intense competition, Wang Minxue majored in the Electronic Science and Technology won the Grand Prize in the reading competition, and Bao Muyan majored in English and Russian won the first prize in the writing contest. Guo Wenjie from the English Class 1601 won second prize in the reading contest. Wu Yifan from the English and Japanese Class 1701 and Wang Yubiao from the Telecommunication Engineering Class 1701 finished the second place in the public speaking contest, and Tao Yuexin from the Huaneng Class 1601 won third prize in the writing contest.
